A veteran of the August Wilson Century Cycle, his standout roles include Holloway (Two Trains Running), Doaker and Wining Boy (The Piano Lesson), and Bynum (Joe Turner’s Come and Gone). Other notable credits: Soaphead Church (The Bluest Eye), Eddie (The Legend of Georgia McBride ), Brucie (Sweat), Dodge (Buried Child), and Abioseh (Les Blancs). Recently, he appeared in the Barrymore-winning The Ramayana ( Valmiki ); and Half God of Rainfall (Elegba/Orunmila) at The Wilma. Shakespeare highlights include: Othello and Romeo and Juliet. An accomplished director as well, Damien trained under Lee Strasburg disciple Ty Collins and Stella Adler protégé Vernon Blackman. He holds a BFA with Distinguished Honors in Theatre from Arcadia University.
