CHRISTIE CHILES TWILLIE (Music Director, Color Purple) has Music Directed over 40 musicals including: HAIR (Asolo), Five Guys Named Moe, Newsies, The Gospel at Colonus, Raisin, A Jolly Holliday (Skylight), Dreamgirls (Paramount, Goodspeed, McCarter), and the Chicago premiere of Minnie’s Boys (Porchlight). She also workshopped Definition Theatre’s version of The Color Purple with Gary Griffin who directed the original Broadway production. Christie won a Footlights Best Musical Direction Award – Professional Production, a Rachel Rockwell Fierce Women Behind The Table award for Music Direction, a BTAA nomination for Best Music Direction for her Original Score for Yellowman. She was a Chicago Broadway World Finalist for Best Music Direction (Big Fish). She is an Executive Board member for MAESTRA Music.
