A delightful adaptation of a dearly-loved classic

Adapted by Jessica Swale
Directed by Jessica Bedford

July 20 to August 5 | Main Stage

The future is uncertain for sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood as they are left penniless and without prospects in a culture where status and matchmaking are nothing short of essential. As their family is forced to begin a new life in Devonshire, they encounter promising new acquaintances who will turn out to be be much more than they initially seem. Through the hopes and heartbreak, the Dashwood sisters discover the cruelties and unpredictability that come with the search for true love, whether measured or impulsive. Jane Austen’s razor-sharp wit shines through in this fresh and funny adaptation of her beloved classic from the Olivier Award-winning writer Jessica Swale. Ages 7+

“Sense and Sensibility (Swale)” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
