The Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival announces Joan Moran of the Amaranth Foundation will receive its annual Will Shakespeare Award. The award will be conferred on June 2 at the Festival’s season gala, Luminosity, to be held in the University Center on the campus of DeSales University.
Moran served as a PSF board member for nine years and served as season sponsor in 2008 as well as production sponsor many times. According to Patrick Mulcahy, producing artistic director, “Joan has been and continues to be a source of wisdom and encouragement to me and to the board of directors of PSF. She has helped PSF bring people together to enrich their lives in a communal experience of inspiration and beauty through the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.”
The Will Shakespeare award is given annually to a person, group, or organization that enriches the world by the sharing of gifts, inspires others through luminosity of spirit and engages with society in a way that leaves an indelible and beautiful impression.
The annual gala features entertainment including Broadway headliners William Michals and Dee Roscioli and serves as a prelude to the Shakespeare Festival’s 21st season as well as its biggest fundraising event of the year. Tickets for the gala are available by calling 610-282-WILL [9455], ext. 2, or online at www.pashakespeare.org.
